Playing Time Each quarter is divided into two (2) six (6) minute segments, for a total of eight (8) segments per game. At the end of the game, the number of segments played by each player must be within one segment of each other. Example: If one player plays 5 segments, each other player must play at least 4 segments. One player CANNOT play 6 segments if any other player has only played 4 segments.
Margin of Victory Teams will make all efforts to avoid a margin of victory that exceeds 25 points. "All efforts" by the leading team shall include using different players as the point guard, making a minimum of five passes before taking a shot, discontinuing fast breaks, etc.
1-and-1 Free Throws, Part I Until the last minute of the game, there are no 1-and-1 free throws in grades 4 and 5. In the last minute of the game, both teams will granted 1-and-1 free throws on non-shooting fouls.
1-and-1 Free Throws, Part II Upon the 7th team foul of a half, non-shooting fouls are granted 1-and-1 free throws. Upon the 10th team foul of a half, non-shooting fouls are granted 2 free throws.
3 Point Shots Regulation rules apply. ***Optional for 5th grade when games at LVMS.***
Backcourt Violation Games played at Flocktown and OFRS shall use the top of the key in the backcourt as the midcourt line for backcourt violations.
Backcourt Defense, Part I Backcourt defense is prohibited.
Backcourt Defense, Part II During the last 2 minutes of the game ONLY, the Losing team may full court press. The winning team may only full court press if their lead is 10 points or less.
Double Teaming, Part I Double teaming is not permitted outside the foul line extended except to help for a pick situation (which is, in reality, a defensive "switch").
Double Teaming, Part II Double teaming is permitted in the front court only.
Foul - Flagrant Automatic ejection from the game (zero tolerance).
Fouled Out Player After 6 personal fouls, player fouls out and is disqualified for the rest of the game.
Free Throws Part I Shooter may jump over line but may not charge into the lane to retrieve a rebound until the ball hits the rim.

Free Throws, Part III Girls Shooter may jump over line but may not charge into the lane to retrieve a rebound until the ball hits the rim.
Length of Quarters, Part I All quarters are 12 minutes, running time.
Length of Quarters, Part II Quarters halved into 6-minute segments for substitutions, (:30 seconds allowed-see below). This is not a time out. The time is to be used to make substitutions only.
Overtime 1st OT is 2 minutes; 2nd OT is 1 minute; tie is called thereafter (except in HS where play continues based on time constraints).
Picks & Screens During live ball, only one player may set a pick at a time, no "pick walls" of multiple players setting picks is permitted
Running Clock Clock runs at all times, EXCEPT for: timeouts [1 minute], 6-minute subbing [30 seconds], quarter breaks [1 minute], half [3 minutes], and within last 1 minute IF the game is within 8 or less points at 1:00:00 left in game
Starting Games Games must start at time scheduled; on-coming teams own court
Stealing Ball No intercepting a pass or stealing a ball off a dribble beyond the 3 point line unless your feet are on or behind the 3 point line. Reaching over the line is allowed as long as the defender's feet are on or behind the 3 point line
Time Outs Two time outs any time during the game
Zone Defense Generally defensive player must be within 6 feet of the offensive player he is assigned to cover. HOWEVER ISOLATION PLAYS NOT ALLOWED, SO PLEASE SEE BELOW.
Isolation Plays Players do not have to be within 6 feet of the offensive player he is assigned to cover if the offensive player is not actively involved in the offensive flow of the game. Examples- offensive player standing at half court while ball/offense is away from the "uninvolved" player. Another example- "uninvolved" player standing out of bounds or on the far sideline, away from the ball/offense.
Zone Defense Standard defense is man-to-man. If zone defense is to be played, both teams must agree to play it at same time during the game. If zone defense
